Welcome to Your Brave Space

Do you find yourself wanting to make changes in your life, but keep falling into the same patterns and behaviors, or maybe you’ve tried to make changes, but things still feel heavy or uncertain?
You’re not alone, and it makes sense that you’re feeling this way. Life can be incredibly hard sometimes, especially when you’re doing your best to grow and still feel stuck. I believe healing is possible—and that it begins with small, brave steps.
Your story matters, and it’s never too late to begin again. You are worthy of healing, growth, and a life where you feel whole and truly seen, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now. I’d be honored to walk alongside you on that journey because I believe your story isn’t over.

My Approach & Specialties

Hi, I’m Liza Jean Meyers, a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern.
I’m passionate about working with and supporting neurodivergent individuals (ADHD, ASD, OCD, and Learning Challenges), while also walking alongside individuals processing trauma (PTSD), anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, developmental delays, and behavioral challenges. I work with individuals across the entire lifespan—from young children starting at age 5, through adolescence, and into adulthood.
When working with children, I collaborate closely with caregivers—helping families gain new perspectives, build practical coping strategies, and foster deeper understanding together. Above all, I prioritize being fully present with each person, meeting you exactly where you are in every single session.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and specialized care. As a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern, I am dedicated to expanding my clinical expertise through advanced, specialized training, including:
● Registered Play Therapist™ (In Training)● EMDRIA-Approved EMDR Trained● TraumaPlay™ Certified (In Training)● Autplay® Certified Therapist ( In Training)
In our work together, I integrate modalities tailored to your unique needs, including Child-Centered Play Therapy, Adlerian Play Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sandtray Therapy, Expressive Arts, Narrative Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.
Together, we can gently uncover what may be keeping you stuck, helping you reconnect with your inner world and move toward the person you were always meant to be.
Change is hard—but it is possible.

A Little About Me Beyond the Counseling Room

I’m a neurodivergent lifelong learner with a heart for connection, simple living, and hearing people's stories. As a neurodivergent person, I experience and process the world a little differently—and that uniqueness fuels my deepest passion: connecting genuinely with others and learning the stories that make them who they are.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and three kids exploring nature and all it has to offer. I find my creative spark in the simple, hands-on moments of daily life—whether that’s expressed through sand trays, coloring, journaling, thrift shopping, or turning random kitchen ingredients into a meal from scratch. I also love tuning into podcasts on a walk, letting music set the tone, or relaxing on my swing with a good book.
Play is such a wonderful bridge for connection and spending meaningful time together. Whether creating random games out of nowhere, finding new ways to bring toys to life, or diving back into classic board games like Guess Who?, I embrace play as a fundamental way to connect and grow.
